Holistic health services are defined as a form of healing involving complimentary medicines and alternative healthcare practices that can overlap with modern-day western medicine, but go beyond the singular treatment of symptoms to support more than just the body. Holistic practices considers the person as a whole, emphasizing on the connection of mind, body and spirit. These types of services are so important because to truly achieve optimal wellness in the physical, mental, and spiritual sense we have to be viewing and supporting the body as the incredible system it is.

Research shows that time spent in nature exponentially boosts our mental health and wellbeing. Our hectic modern lives require us to sit for hours and hours in front of screens, our body forgotten as our mind takes over, and physical space gives way to virtual space. Reconnecting with the earth, giving our bodies what they need is essential to finding a sustainable balance in the modern day world. Outdoor adventures provide that balance, setting our bodies in motion, disconnecting from the Tamed World and reconnecting with self through the Wild World.

Sustainability has all the trappings of a “buzz” word. You’ve heard it encouraged by global organizations, bloggers, and environmental activists alike. More than a buzz word, though, it can be a personal philosophy that greatly benefits the larger public. Sustainable living means we prioritize the use of natural and renewable resources instead of creating excess waste and depleting environmental resources for future generations. Practitioners of sustainable living often attempt to reduce their carbon footprint by altering methods of transportation, energy consumption, and diet.
